Ira Winderman expressed his concerns, noting that the Heat's current predicament stems from a collective expectation that others will address the issues. Both Davion Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins are formidable defenders, while Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo are formidable defensive anchors. However, there's an underlying sense that defense is someone else's responsibility. Basketball demands a cohesive defensive effort, yet the Heat's team defense has been woefully inadequate, akin to a situation where everyone is saying, "You handle it, I'm not interested." The only exception that slightly eases my frustration is Giannis, who averages 30 points per game on offense—a stark contrast to Adebayo, who showcased exceptional training camp performance and a strong team ethos. Nonetheless, the current scenario sees everyone standing by idly, leaving their teammates to face adversity alone.
